When we began working with North Lincolnshire & Goole NHS Foundation Trust they were at the beginning of their international recruitment journey. We worked closely with the recruitment team to educate key stakeholders about legislation, the entire process and how to manage and integrate nurses into the organisation once they arrived in the UK.
This Trust presented some challenges that we knew we would have to work with as they were in “special measures” (financial, operational and clinical), at the time and geographically isolated within locations that sometimes receive negative press coverage. We created and operated a highly reactive strategy focus on attracting nurses and focusing on the needs of the nurses to ensure longevity and retention.
