As the world’s need for nurses increases, we see countries such as the UK experience many inbound recruits from overseas, which ultimately leaves the nurses’ home country with an outbound gap within their own workforce establishments.

Working to support the next generation of nurses

Resource Finder has a strong presence and flow of recruited candidates from overseas, but like many other UK-based recruiters, we also recruit from other ‘hot spots’ such as India, Africa, the Caribbean and the UAE, with the UK benefitting from departing nurses creating a void in the home country.Within many overseas study programmes for nurses, nurses would need to complete the educational process with the completion of examinations. For example, in the Philippines, nursing graduates would be required to complete board exams, and in India, nurses who apply for roles within Government hospitals would need to pass an examination to be successfully selected for employment. Often either taking the exam or completing a trusted review programme in preparation can be costly and a firm barrier, this is evident with the significant proportion of nurses not able to take the step into healthcare employment because of financial barriers.

How does the programme work?

This programme is designed as the next phase of our ethical recruitment process launched in the Philippines in 2019. We are giving back to support and genuinely contribute towards healthcare staffing in the home countries of those international nurses deployed to the UK.

  • Every nurse deployed to the UK by Resource Finder shall have the opportunity to nominate a nurse within their home country, who requires financial support to undertake or prepare for their exam or CPD programme.
  • There is no expectation of nurses taking or preparing for examinations to make any commitment to ever work with Resource Finder or in the UK, the sole purpose is to support nurses in those countries to be able to gain employment as a nurse and contribute to the delivery of healthcare globally.
  • As one nurse takes their career forward in a new territory, they are able to plant a seed for stability within their own country at no cost or obligation.
  • The nurse supported by the Nursing to Nurture programme has no recruitment or financial obligation to Resource Finder.
